Respite care is typically support that allows a family carer to gain a break from caring by having a caregiver provide supervision and monitoring. Caregivers can engage clients in conversations, board games, walks, exploring the local amenities or have a nice cup of coffee at a nice local café. Our caregivers also likes to promote an active lifestyle by engaging in the usual exercise routine with clients or preparing healthy meals.
Personal care is a very private and personal matter and we want to treat our clients with the utmost respect. We support clients with showers, sponge baths, grooming and dressing. We extend our service to other support including changing and washing bed linens if incontinence is an issue and support our client with changing of continence pads.
The basic standard of Domestic Care service is to ensure that a client’s home is safe, clean and hygienic to live in. Some domestic tasks include
- Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming
- Changing of bed sheets
- Washing, hanging, folding, and ironing of clothes
- Washing dishes and wiping bench tops
- Cleaning of bathroom and toilet areas
Ocean Home Care will get our clients ready and ensure our clients are being supported in any ways necessary. We accompany clients to medical appointments, shopping, social outings and family events.
